Weasel Monster

When you have a cut but it's not bleeding, Japanese say that it is done by "Kamaitachi." This Japanese monster is actually three weasels. The first one pushes you, the second one cuts you, then the last one put a medicine on you so that it won't bleed.

I tried to explain this to my friends who got cuts like that while fishing, but in vain. I should have known better that I cannot explain such concept in English... it went like this;

"Well, it is done by Japanese monsters. They are 3 weasels, and they push, cut, and put medicine on you."

They asked me why the monster puts medicine so I ended up saying that the last weasel is a bit nice. They were cracking up about the idea that a weasel is considered as a monster and said "cheers to those monsters that came all the way from Japan!"

Does anybody know how I can translate "Youkai"?? (*The closest translation I could think of was Monster... but as you might have guessed, it is quite different.)
